About babezone/hunkzone
The why and how
What is the purpose of babezone.org & hunkzone.org?
Babezone is developed by a few friends and ex-coworkers and it is meant as a playground
for us. It is a means of testing new internet technologies and trying different designs.
We do not make money from this site. The banners are enough to cover the hosting and allow
us to do something special for the site once in a while like a contest or some extra
advertising.
Hunkzone only recently came into existense, because it would be unfair to use technology only for half
the population. We figured we should not be selfish and let girls have some fun too. Besides,
if your girlfriend/wife/lover likes watching nice men on the net, we give you an alternative and vice versa.

The history of babezone.org
the situation
Babezone was started way back in 1999, when five people were working together in a small Dutch webdesigncompany called Two2Tango. These five people were:
- Mark - designer/HTML and Javascript coder
- Grad - main designer
- Tjarko - Coldfusion and javascript coder
- Erik - ASP, XML and javascript coder
- Robin - allround coder and marketing
We decided that it would be cool to have our own site to be able to mess around with new technologies without upsetting any clients. We needed to build our own site.
the plan
Being five guys, a babe-site seemed like the sensible way to go. So we started to brainstorm, we started to build and at long last, in 2000, we bought ourselves a hosting deal and babezone.org was a fact.
the rise...
Back in these days, babezone was built in javascript and ColdFusion, and it ran for two years, and we had a ball.
We messed with the design, we tried all the latest stuff and we could test it in a real-world situation with a lot of visitors.
The site was becoming more and more popular, we had internet-models mailing and asking if they could be featured on the site. We had
more and more visitors each month.
Babezone never became a rounchy or pornographic site, it was all about design, webtechnology and beautiful women.
There are enough porn-sites as it is.
After two years some of the guys went their own way, and lost interest, Tjarko, Grad and Erik kept on maintaining the site
In 2003 Erik rebuilt the entire site. The backend was made in ASP, but the entire frontend was HTML and javascript. This made the site
blazing fast, because no processing had to be done. The site just displayed HTML. All processing that couldn't be avoided on the front-end was done in javascript.
and fall...
In September 2003 the provider babezone.org had used for so long went bust. The site was taken down and all of the most recent additions to the site were lost.
We missed our little playground a lot, and we knew that at some point babezone had to return. But all of us were tired of having to start all over again, besides,
this was an excellent opportunity for a clean slate.
the clean slate
We could start with a blank site, and use our knowledge and experience to start from scratch.
Grad made a new design, Tjarko was quite busy, so Erik started the programming. The site would be made in ASP and had to be XHTML/CSS. It would feature the old
popular items and more. A forum had to be included. And some sort of membership, because this time, babezone was going to run on its own server.
And here we are now... pretty damn proud. We don't believe we are there yet. In fact, we'll propably never be "there". But we are back atleast.
thanks
A big thank you to you, visitor. Wether this is the first visit to babezone you ever made, or wether you're a hardcore veteran (mr. Wasabi, are you hearing this?).
Enjoy the site, peek around. If you like it, let us know. If you don't, do so too, there's always room for improvement
Team Babezone / 2006
